KANSAS RECAP-

First I would like to start out with wishing and hoping that all the Mother's out there had an awesome Mother's Day. I know the drivers really raved about this being their favorite weekend not only because of Mother's Day but being able to have a Sunday off to relax and hang out with family and friends. What a weekend it was in the Sunflower state. The Camping World Truck Series race was again the highlight of the weekend with a last lap crash sending both leaders into the wall and 18 year old (graduates high school in 3 weeks) William Byron steered cleared and went on to win the race. In the cup race, Martin Truex Jr. dominated leading 172 laps for only something to go wrong in the pits generally costing him another shot at Victory. As for the Dick Trickle Fantasy team, its Victory Monday! I had drivers finish 4th, 5th, 11th, and 12th on my way to victory.

Kansas Shiny Star Award- Matt Kenseth
The driver from Wisconsin settled his score with Joey Logano as the two talked earlier in the week, both agreeing, that away from the track they wouldn't be inviting each other to any parties but on the track they would race each other the same way as they race other drivers, clean. Kenseth gets that monkey off his back and scored his first Top 5 of the year. Way to go Cheese head.

Kansas SURPRISE! Award- Ryan Blaney
The dude is so laid back it will kill you to watch his interviews post race. The kid gets out of his car after running 400 miles and has the quiet AH SHUCKS look, and with a low voice he grins a little and thanks his sponsors. He is one helluva talent, 1 night after his Dad, Dave Blaney's, horrible wreck in a Sprint Car Event at Eldora Speedway the kid turns around and records his first Top 5 of 2016! This rookie class has got to be one of the best in recent memory!

Kansas Wreck of the Night Award- Denny Hamlin
Denny Hamlin going for the win late, splits the double team of Brad Keselowski and Kyle Larson and says "I'm going to be the rock between two hard places!" and ultimately gets loose and at the same time BK gets loose. BK saves it to the bottom of the track, and Denny slides up into Larson and the Joey Logano Train heading for Charlotte plows into the FedEx Freight like a heavy wet pile of snow in March! Both drivers were ok, Keselowski rebounded to finish 10th and Kyle Larson's dreaded season continues!
In the smoke there somewhere is Joey Logano
Oh... There's his hood!

Now on to my picks for this weekends AAA 400 Drive for Autism from Dover, Delaware.

Group A:

JIMMIE JOHNSON

It's going to be a common theme in 2 weeks at Charlotte. But Jimmie Johnson dominates Dover, and he dominates it well. In 28 races at Dover, JJ has 10 wins, 15 Top5s, 20 Top10s and after Sunday he will have led 3,000 laps. I looked it up, in all the races he has ran here he has NOT led a lap in ONLY 7 races here SEVEN!! In the spring race alone, he has only NOT led a single lap in only 2 races. Its pretty safe to say that him and Crew Chief Chad Knaus have this place figured out. He is also the defending race winner and I believe he will find his way to victory lane this Sunday! He is a must start for everyone this week!!

MATT KENSETH

I know same drivers as last week, but when the one driver dominates and the other runs well (and also needs a win in 2016) I'm going to stick with what is working. Kenseth, has 2 wins here the last coming in the Spring race 2011 when he was driving for Roush Fenway Racing. Since joining JGR, his worst finishes of 39th and 40th were because of engine and suspension problems. Besides that he has two 7th places finishes a 3rd and a 5th. Look for Mr. Cheesehead to get a victory here this weekend to keep JGR RED HOT!

WE2W4- Brad Keselowski, Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick

Group B:

KYLE LARSON

Now he isn't having the best season so far, but every driver needs that one good race to get that confidence back up and why not you benefit from it. Larson has only 4 starts here in his career but has made the best of them. His lowest finish coming in his first race is 11th, he finished 3rd here last spring. I figure take a chance on him because you will look either really smart or really foolish. I think Kyle gets his season back on track with a good run here!

TONY STEWART

He needs to be in the top 30 in points and a win to make the chase in his final year. Last week proves that he hasn't lost the drive and he is here to make this damn chase. Coming to a track where he runs very well at, will propel him closer to that goal. In 33 races, Stewart has 3 wins (last coming in 2013), 11 Top5s, 17 Top10s. I think SMOKE is about Rise even higher after this week in Dover, and I don't mean that in a negative way!!

MARTIN TRUEX JR.

Man, what does this guy need to do to get into victory lane this year? Dominated both Texas and last weekend at Kansas just to see it slip away at the end. He has 1 win here coming back in 2007, and its his home track. In his last 4 starts, Truex has two 6th place finishes, a 7th and an 11th place finish. This team is on the verge of winning a race, as he is been one of the fastest cars as of late! Look for Mr. Truex to drive into victory lane for the 2nd time in his career at Dover this weekend.

ARIC ALMIROLA

Aric is not having the best of season's, and this pick is solely on how he has run here the last two visits to Dover. In his 8 starts here he has a 14.38 AVG Finish, he recorded two 5th place finishes in the 2 races here in 2015. I'm not saying he is Richard Petty but the #43 car has been to victory lane a total of 10 times at Dover. I'm not even thinking he gets close to winning this weekend but could get his first Top5 of 2015.

WE2W4- Carl Edwards, Ryan Newman, Jamie McMurray

GROUP C:

CHASE ELLIOT AND RYAN BLANEY

Very sweet, short and simple! These two give you the best chance to win every week. Sooner or later you will have to find another driver that's not running as well but so will everyone else in your league as I'm down to 6 starts with both of these drivers! SO with that being said, my theory worked out last week... well no, no it didn't. Both of these rooks finished in the top 10 with Blaney finishing 5th and Elliot finishing the highest of all Hendrick Motorsports (better then JJ, JR and Kasey Kahne) just putting that out there JR NATION.

Well, another week of my picks. Another DUBBYA for the Dick Trickle Fantasy Team. Next week, I will send out a recap of the Dover race but will not give a Fantasy Update as its All-Star weekend for the cup boys! So another week is in the books, Thank You for your continued support, and please feel free to leave comments in the comments section below!

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN
GOD SPEED
